ZAHIRAH HAJI

As a participant in a leadership class that focused on developing campus community and recognition, I served as the Staff Event Coordinator and Student Recognition Officer. In these roles, I led programs to honor and recognize academic accomplishments, sports, clubs, and the Golden Eagle Teacher Award. By coordinating presents, posters, events, and filmmaking projects, I aimed to ensure that every member of my school felt valued and recognized.

Tutored students by creating lesson plans, assignments, and assessments that corresponded to each student's particular learning style. Partaking in hands-on learning experiences using virtual labs, practice problems, and focus on areas of improvement to improve their critical thinking skills.

Collaborated with a non-profit organization that seeks to strengthen the Muslim community and assist those in need. I became involved in events to address critical societal challenges. This includes arranging and executing a food and clothing drive-in during COVID-19, building kitchen and supply boxes for Afghan refugees, and coordinating the distribution of Ramadan food boxes for people experiencing food poverty. These events helped my ability to improve my communication, time management, and teamwork skills to ensure a successful collaboration.
