Zehao Li (Penny) is a Chinese-born pianist and a current senior at Wesleyan College, pursuing a degree in Music with a Piano Emphasis. She began studying piano at the age of six and previously attended the Xinghai Conservatory Pre-College Division in China for specialized music education.
Penny has actively participated in various performances, competitions, and music festivals, including auditions with MTNA, the Atlanta Music Club, and the Rome Symphony. Her achievements include a Bronze medal at the Singapore International Piano Competition, the Scriabin Prize at the Macao International Piano Competition, and a gold medal at the Hong Kong International Piano Competition, as well as several awards from the Georgia Music Teacher Association.
In July 2024, Penny had the opportunity to attend the Altschuler Summer Music Institute in Italy, where she further honed her skills and expanded her musical horizons. She enjoys sharing her passion for music through performance and recently held a benefit solo recital at St. Andrew Christian Church, with additional performances at Vienna Rathaus (City Hall) and St. Jacob's Church in Ljubljana. Currently, she serves as a pianist at St. Andrew Christian Church in Macon. Penny truly values the opportunity to learn from and collaborate with fellow musicians and has had the privilege to study under esteemed pianists, including Evren Ozel, Llewellyn Sánchez-Werner, and Tamás Ungár.
