Intern
As an Industrial Design Intern at the Fosun Foundation, I embarked on a journey that blended design innovation with a profound social cause. Fosun Foundation is distinguished for its commitment to empowering rural communities by transforming their traditional products into modern, marketable goods. This initiative not only preserves the unique cultural heritage of these communities but also opens new avenues for economic growth and sustainability.
Project Overview
- One of the most impactful projects was the redesign of traditional pastries made with rural crops, with the aim of introducing them to urban markets. The redesign process involved ingredient sourcing and recipe refinement, modernizing the presentation, packaging design, and branding strategy. This project presented a unique blend of cultural sensitivity, design innovation, and market strategy.
- In an exciting extension of my typical responsibilities, I had the opportunity to design a poster that would be featured in numerous train stations across China. This task, while seemingly divergent from traditional industrial design, actually aligned perfectly with the core principles of the field - functionality, user experience, and aesthetic appeal.
