WELDING INSPECTION SKILLS for FUSION WELDS AS PER BSEN ISO 17637

  • Prepared and Qualified welding procedure specification (WPS) for various grades of materials like ASTM 106Gr B, ASTM 106 Gr C and ASTM A312 TP 316L as per ASME Section IX.
  • Duties before welding, during welding, After Welding Verify that the material is in accordance with drawing / WPS.
  • Identification of welder’s qualification for each WPS to be used and all welder qualification certificates are valid.
  • Welding consumables to be used are as specified by the WPS.
  • Welding equipment is in suitable condition and calibrated as appropriate.
  • Joint fit-ups are in accordance with WPS / drawings.
  • Tack welds are acceptable per standards, code or WPS.
  • Conducting and witnessing the welder qualification skill test in accordance with the approved WPS and prepare Welder performance qualification record (WQT).
  • Surveillance and monitoring the contractor’s Process activities like fit-up, Preheat, DPT as per FQAP/ITP and WPS Preparing inspection report for day to day activities.
  • Witnessing and Reviewing Non Destructive Testing (NDT) activities in Welding compare with codes and standards.
  • Witnessing all testing activities like Hydro and Pneumatic test, Chemical cleaning and Oil flushing.
  • Preparing QC documentation for handling over to the client and maintaining proper filling system.
  • Preparation and approval of Work procedures and Inspection Test Plan ITP/QCP for piping
  • Ensuring the correct equipment and materials are being used for a weld.
  • Monitor PWHT process (if required) for compliance with the procedure (check chart record).
  • Inspecting completed welds, assessing the quality and strength of completed welds.
  • Identifying weld defects in post welds such as porosity, Slag inclusions, Cracks, Undercuts, Burn through, Overlaps, Root undercut and Under fill.
  • Re-organize of baking in Basic Electrodes with their respective temperature.
  • Monitoring Acidic, Basic, Granular Flux during SAW (Submerged Arc Welding) and their utilization.
  • Demonstrating correct welding procedures, Generating new welding techniques.
  • Ensuring welders adhere to state health and safety regulations.

  • Preparing project reports such as RFI’s, MRI’s, NCR’s, to get approved by the Client in order to Propagate the project, Reviewing the technical Submittals against the Drawings and specifications, local Codes.
  • Experienced in Supply & Sewer pipe lines for Domestic, Commercial & Residential Usage. Municipal Connections according to QCDD standards for storm water Outlet.
  • Preventive maintenance, Breakdown Maintenance, to reduce breakdown and to increase availability, Illustrates Repair, replacing of parts, Trouble shoot in order to maintain Pumps, Pump Stations keep functioning.
  • Ensure adequate supervision, equipment and materials are available during execution of maintenance activity of each and every type of job and post job evaluation, According to Standards or Method Statements.
  • Mechanical Engineer (Rotary & Static) schedules and assures completion of Mechanical maintenance activities like Routine Maintenance, Trouble-shooting Rotary Equipment Static Equipment, such as Pumps and Connecting roots.
  • Identifying Root Causes by following, Sponsored Risk Assessment or Created by senior authorities for Chiller Plant, Package Units, other Mechanical Plumbing Connectivity.
  • Execution of plumbing works connection of primary, secondary and condenser pumps as per design, Contingency plan.
  • Checking and Installation of the pipe supports, eccentric, concentric, reducers, joints, types of Valves perfect insulation without leakage for Water Supply and Sewerage lines.
  • Undertake prior review of contractor’s proposed mechanical system Testing & Commissioning methods.
  • Testing & Commissioning methods schedule such as for Chiller Fire Alarm, Heat Detectors, Smoke Detectors, Sprinklers.
  • Preparation of co-ordination as built drawing for above ground ceiling services such as ducting chilled & fire water piping.
  • Attending the meetings held on site for technical and co-ordination issues with architects, consultant and main contractor.
  • Visiting site for inspection and see any problems and technical queries are properly and timely resolved by examine through different Tools such as Anemometer, Pressure Gauge Manifold, Infrared Thermometer, Micron Gauges, Clamp Meter, Sling psychometer.
  • Installation of firefighting pipe testing system, fire sprinkler, fire hydrant, alarm initiating devices & control panel.
  • Execution of layouts for high and low levels, Utility Connections for portable water to the Municipality Sewerage & Supply line to the House hold usage.
  • In depth knowledge of Rotatory Machines such as Different types of Turbines, Pumps, Compressors, Engines, Generators, Blowers, and Gearboxes.
  • Holding extra skills for non - movable joints in a static Machine such as different type of Valves, Boilers, Furnaces, and Heat Exchangers.
  • Aware of hazardous substances like fuels, Gases can cause human or equipment loss.
  • Avoiding corroded, damaged equipment allowing maintenance.
  • Skilled knowledge of Isometric and Orthographic drawings.
  • Change parts to enhance as pertaining to plants functionality.
  • A demonstrated safety measures are kept on Index.
  • Flexible for changing priorities in terms of required means on plant and office schedule.
  • Master of all documentation for accuracy as per work order.
  • Review contractor’s installation method statements.
  • Handling internal and external material inspection in quality.
  • Review contractor’s mechanical shop drawing in conjunction with the structural and electrical engineers to ensure engineering co-ordination and advise project manager accordingly.
  • Perform the task of evaluating the scope of supply and commercial bid of the project.
  • Ability to manage work with in the budget.
  • Organize the working of the project, procured the major items such as pumps and exhaust fans.
