I am a self-motivated individual with experience in volunteer work, social media, writing, teaching, editing, translating, and research. I founded the social media site Alone Together and served as a social media intern at Panopath Education and Technology. My role as an event and program assistant at the Munk School provided hands-on experience in event planning, project management, and administration. I developed editorial skills as an undergraduate assistant in the Department of East Asian Studies, and I gained additional experience in event hosting and promotion as both a language table coordinator and social chair at Stanford University.
I have participated in an internship at Panopath, an education technology company and college-oriented social-networking mobile application. During the internship, I interview college students and conduct online researches to produce encyclopedia for universities. I also write and translate articles from English to Chinese that are related with college application.
The idea for creating Alone Together emerged 8 years back, given my interest to collaborate with aspiring writers. I created a social networking site on the WeChat Public Platform and contacted people online to see if they were interested to join. I was pleasantly surprised to find out there were many people from around the world who were interested.Through effective communication and by designating tasks, my contributors and I are able to post original fiction, journals, and book reviews on a weekly basis. Currently, Alone Together has attracted hundreds of subscribers.
