Study the waste water treatment plant (WWTP) and created a poster to educate the Morris campus about our water quality. Attend conferences and symposiums to learn about sustainability, and to present my findings on our water quality in Morris. Study other sustainability topics such as plastics versus other materials.
Treated invasive species using techniques such as hand pulling, cut-stump spraying, back-pack spraying, and boom spraying. Recorded data in field maps to later analyze in ArcGIS online. Studied for, obtained, and used a pesticide applicators license (A and J). Completed defensive driver training and ATV/UTV training. Learned local plant identification of common invasive species, as well as look-a-like native species and common prairie plants.
Aided in sales tasks such as preparing and sending out mailings to landowners. Attended a landowner meeting and aided in the prep work for the meeting such as set up, and signing landowners in. Created a pamphlet to inform landowners how wind turbines are installed.
Greeted park guests, and provided directions throughout the park. Sold daily and yearly parks passes. Handled money, including counting money at the end of the day and recording sales.
