  • For the arrest of a suspect for unlawful possession of a weapon. Detectives were looking for a suspect wanted for escape. They came across the suspect who entered a taxi and stopped the auto. While the suspects were getting out, one had a gun and a struggle ensued. The suspects were subdued & some detectived got minor injuries. A loaded ghost gun was recovered with hollow point bullets. Medal for Excellent Police Duty

  • On May 21, 2023, a thirteen-year old juvenile was shot and left in critical condition. Police Officer Edris Khawaja and several other members of the United States Attorney's Office Violent Crime Initiative focused their efforts on gaining intelligence and attempting to identify the suspects. After multiple surveillance operations and search warrant applications, officers were able to apprehend two suspects, both in possession of handguns. Ballistics revealed these handguns were used in the shooting.
