Summary

After graduating from The University of St. Thomas, I began my teaching career at Northview Elementary in Eagan, MN as a substitute teacher. The following school year I was hired as a Co-3rd grade teacher. Then, during the 1993-1994 school year, while teaching a full-time 1st grade/3rd grade split at Northview, I received my Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota. I continued to teach at Northview Elementary for 10 years, primarily in 4th grade. During my time at Northview, I was a grade level leader as well as a teacher liaison on the PTA Committee. After being granted a 5 year leave, I chose to resign to stay home with our oldest daughter. When our second daughter was in 2nd grade, I decided to get back into teaching as a substitute teacher. Along with substituting at Highland Catholic, I also worked part-time as a grade 1 teacher assistant for 5 years before leaving that position. I currently continue to substitute at "HiC" on a "as needed basis".
