Work History

Lead Teller

WesBanco
Wheeling, WV
2022.04 - Current

I currently work as lead teller at the Elm Grove Branch. I started there as a full time teller and worked my way up to a lead teller. I have many responsibilities every day . My job is to not only order money and do the over and short ,it is also to make every teller successful at their job. I have 35 submitted referrals and at the present 25 of them are qualified. We had a referral contest last year starting in October and I was the first back to back winner . I had 5 qualified referrals in October and 5 in November. I have many qualified credit cards as well. I first started in April and we were not made aware of the referral goals however since we became aware I am the top performer at my branch. I also believe mentoring is a key factor in my day to day duties. I have coached my tellers in how to identify the potential for a referral because our main goal is to have our customers money work for them. We recently have had other tellers from different branches help us. I have had the opportunity to show them how to look for potential referrals and during her day helping us Martinia got a qualified referral! I believe communication is key not only with customers but coworkers as well. We are all a reflection of WesBanco. This is the reason for our weekly huddles which are very beneficial to the team.

I started out as a cashier and worked my way up to store manager. I managed up to ten employees on a daily basis. I was responsible for inventory, loss prevention, cash handling, scheduling, and budgeting hours for a 24 hour store. I displayed great leadership to make our store run efficiently and effectively. I also managed other stores when they were in need of help. I always displayed great customer service under any type of situation. I showed my employees how to work as a team by always doing any task needed to run an efficient business. The team members knew they could always rely on me which is important when being the leader of a team. I could always delegate tasks because managing a 24 hour store requires a group effort. I would always maximize each employees time they spent at work. They knew I would be working equally as hard to provide a great store with exceptional customer service. I would always be available to mentor and guide the employees so they could be the best they could be to have the potential to move up in the company as I did. I also would make sure I knew which product sold the most from our kitchen during peak hours so we would have plenty on hand, by doing so our customers always came back because they knew they could rely on consistency,a friendly environment, and great customer service.
