Historic Downtown Liberty was my first internship. for all my junior year of high school. I got to work with small business's to enhance their social media presence and engagement. I got the special opportunity to work with a specific business running their social media entirely, "Bae's Designs." I made graphics for town events and even got to plan our Fall Festival in the fall. I did about 5 hours a week for 7 months.
My second internship was was with Athletico in Liberty, Missouri. I would come in and shadow a physical therapist 3 times a week for 5 to 7 hours. I took this as a learning opportunity and this internship made me realize I want to become a Physical or Occupational Therapist. I taught patients work outs and stretches to do while they were there. I even got to watch needling a few times. This internship was during my first semester in my Senior year (4 months).
Lastly, I got to work for Children with Opportunity in Liberty, Missouri. I got to shadow Physical, occupational, and Speech therapist. They would with children with autism and other genetic disorders. You got to work with multiple kids each day and incorporated therapy into their playtime or when they ate. Not only did I get to learn and experience many things with these kids, they also gave me a new sense of gratitude for my life. We got to celebrate everyday for kids doing things like learn how to hold a fork or or simply to balance on one leg. Many things we take for granted everyday I got to fight for with each kid!
