
Goal-driven Locomotive Electrician / Mechanic with more than 6 years of progressive Railroad experience across Maintenance of Equipment, Transportation and Maintenance of Track. Great problem-solver with strong background as a Mechanic and License Airframe Technician. Knowledgeable about different mechanical systems, parts and typical problems across both railroad and flight industries. Brings proven abilities in locating sources of faults and completing quality repairs.
● Oversees, manages, and coordinates activities of train crew and transloading operations.
● Supervises and coordinates the activities of train crews.
● Must ensure all reporting is done accurately and timely, including daily crew work sheets and weekly operational reporting.
● Initiate and provide an accurate, complete, and timely investigation of all accidents and incidents, including causes, remedial action, and recommended solutions per ACWR, local, state, and federal requirements.
● Be aware of and make adjustments to locomotive consist requirements based on HP and trailing tons on a daily basis, with a goal to minimize locomotive fuel and maximize locomotive output..
● Have knowledge of and skills in applying basic federal railroad regulations, guidelines and rules, train and coach crews as needed
● Have ability to read and comprehend written safety rules, procedure and safety manuals, government regulations, operating and maintenance instructions, memos and other work-related information and ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form; and/or to apply principles of logic to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; and/or to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems.
● Think and act quickly in responding to emergency and non-emergency situations.
● Be able to hold crew members accountable for errors or safety violations using data (observations or other) in a timely manner.
● Build relationship with adjoining yard masters of Class I railroad connections.
● Build relationship with customers at plant and operational level to ensure two way communication.
