• Ventilator associated pneumonia process improvement project, 2024, Researched with staff about ways to lower the rate of ventilator infections. Participated in a 1200 patient encounter study to gather data in order to make changes to care given to patients. Collaborated with physicians, respiratory therapists and nurses to safely achieve the common goal to lower infections by studying oral care compliance and technique in critical care patients on ventilators (pending data on outcomes)
• Central Venous Line dressing study, 2023, Partnered with 3M CHG impregnated Tegaderm to identify, study and theorize better central venous line dressings in critical care patients requiring long term intravenous medications. Patients dressings lasted 28% longer than non-impregnated Tegaderm dressings with a bio-patch. Study included a 4 month observation gathering data with over 100 patients
• Preventative dressing process improvement project, 2022, Utilized a 24 hour life on mepilex sacral border dressings in 65 years and older patients with 2 or more rib fractures. Study showed an improvement in frequent assessment, care and prevention of skin breakdown
• Music therapy involved with Burn dressing process improvement project, 2018, Project to improve pain control during burn dressing changes with critically ill patients. Study showed over 50 patients reported better pain management when having music played during burn dressing changes. Presented at national Burn Conference
