Performs a variety of repair, maintenance, and operational tasks in and around the ADP Facility Building 23 and may include other buildings, grounds, and structures of DSCC. Monitors, Verifies ADP Facility Utility Operations are functioning properly and within proper parameters using the Building Automated System (BAS) and makes adjustments when and if needed to maintain uninterrupted utility operations to the facility. Determines if the back-up systems/equipment for the Chilled Water plant and/or Power plant are required. Makes visual examination and/or operational test to determine extent of repair or maintenance required. Diagnoses the problem such as Failed Chiller, Failed UPS, Failed Generator, tripped Breaker, Failed Pump, Loss of Utility Electrical/Water systems. Responds to 24-hour emergency system critical failures and notifies Appropriate supervisor to event. Determines the repair at a journeyman-required level. Plans and lays out the work electrically. Monitors, Operates, Inspects, records readings. Splices, solders, & repairs/replaces defective wiring, burned out switches, relays, & fixtures. Cleans, lubricates, adjusts related components (air handling units, & dehumidifiers), to include changing filters and belts, lubricating bearings and motors, adjusting switches, cleaning condensers, perform and document water testing on condenser, chilled water, and boiler water systems. Adheres to and directed by the supervisor or the engineer in charge. Performs research and development for equipment testing, repair, & installation. fabricate, install, modify, and troubleshoot specialized electrical control or monitoring systems and equipment designed to meet unique conditions associated with research and development projects.
