What does it mean to be a wrestler? Anyone can buy wrestling shoes and step on a mat and wrestle with someone BUT that doesn’t make them a wrestler. Being a wrestler is much more. It's doing the things that most people won't do which make you a wrestler. Coming back to the same piece of mat day in and day out and putting all your energy, all your focus, all your hard work, your blood, sweat and glory for just minutes of wrestling in a hot gym. Having to work harder than any other sport while having to diet or do extra work after practice just so you are down to weight. That's being a wrestler. To be a wrestler you almost have to be crazy, let's think about it. Wrestlers are unlike anyone else, wrestlers have to watch family stuff their faces during thanksgiving while they sit there managing their weight. Wrestlers get up at 5:30 AM on weekends while friends sleep until mid day. Wrestlers go to bed early while their friends are out on the town. Wrestlers are in hot gyms. A wrestler must be committed for no other reason but to be the best they can be.
