Abby Goozh

Driven by a goal-oriented approach, I excel in school and with all of my extra curricular activities, specifically ice hockey and lacrosse. Montgomery Cheetahs Special Hockey gave me the opportunity to combine my love of sports with my interest in children. While there, I enhanced their social skills and fostered strong relationships between children of all ages with disabilities, all while maintaining the fun of playing hockey. My ability to adapt activities for children with special needs showcases my attention to detail and leadership qualities proving my commitment to teamwork and collaboration.

Considering I have been playing ice hockey for 8 years and have also been selected to play on lots of different high level teams, I have learned a numerous amount of skills These skills include better work ethic, commitment, discipline, leadership, and how to work as a team. The team I played for in 2023 succeeded our goal of participating in the USA Hockey Nationals, demonstrating the hard effort and dedication it took for each of us as an individual player. 

In an effort to expand my horizons and play a sport that was completely new to me, I picked up lacrosse with lots of dedication to practice and with discipline. Because of my hard work in learning the sport, I managed to earn a spot on the JV Lacrosse team for my school. While only playing on the team for such a short amount of time, I learned lots of skills as well, such as resilience, perseverance, and collaboration, in hope to make varsity next year.
