I began my journey as a soccer player at age 5 in a small town named Borama, situated in Somalia; the city strategically positions itself near the Ethiopian border. The dream of playing soccer as a professional became a cherished aspiration shared by many children in the community. Despite the challenges of playing on the streets in varying weather conditions, the path to the professional level remained obstructed by a lack of financial support and necessary equipment at the time. Upon arriving in America in 2016, I actively pursued my dream, participating as a Semi-pro player and achieving success in numerous out-of-state soccer tournaments. Unfortunately, I had to stop playing soccer because of the demands of maintaining consistent work hours while attending school.

Despite dedicating my best efforts, progression beyond the semi-pro level proved elusive. Nonetheless, this experience deepened my passion for the game and fostered a resilient spirit in facing challenges. Moreover, I am pleased to share that my love for soccer endures, and to this day, I continue to find joy in playing the sport. Sports, especially soccer, hold an irreplaceable space in my life, serving as an enduring source of fulfillment and passion that I cannot imagine living without.
