Accomplishments

Awarded 3rd Place – Most Innovative Approach, Integrated Design Project (IDP) Short Video Competition 2024, The Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM).

Projects

“Analysis of Mechanical Vibratory Systems”

  • Mapped and articulated the fundamental concepts of mechanical vibrations and justified their application in a variety of engineering design contexts.
  • Measured and analyzed the salient vibration characteristics of vibratory systems such as structures, machines, and vehicles.
  • Constructed numerical models of vibratory systems such that they can be used to predict and enhance performance.

“Stress and Strain Analysis of Mechanical Component”

  • The project aim was to evaluate & analyze the stress for different components on a car trailer.
  • The maximum bending stress is calculated and compared at both the tow bar and the trailer.
  • Assumed responsibility for leading the design and simulation team for analysis of Stress, Strain, and Maximum bending stress of a car trailer. Mechanical properties including Ultimate Tensile Strength, Yield Tensile Strength, and Modulus of Elasticity were recorded by visualizing them through free body Diagram, Shear Force Diagram, Bending moment diagram.

“Recycling Plastics from Wastewater and Produce Valuable Products”

  • Wrote a research paper on the topic with the aim of analyzing data on plastic waste particularly in water steam and provided sustainable solution.

“Case Study on Hydro Tasmania”

  • Studied the engineering behind the corporation, developing sustainable and environmentally friendly engineering solutions whilst gaining an understanding of Tasmania's significant energy source.
  • The Hydro Tasmania case study analyzed the company's operations in the renewable energy industry, including energy generation, transmission, and distribution, as well as environmental and social impacts. The study provided students with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in renewable energy production, management, and the regulatory and policy frameworks that shape the industry.

“Design and 3D print a Gravity Vehicle “

  • Generated the initial concept and optimized the final design.
  • Improved team management and CAD design skills.

“Material Engineering”

  • Project aim was to evaluate and analyze different materials in relation to their mechanical and physical behavior.
  • Performed several tests including softness, hardness, and changes in different materials when forces and different temperatures are applied.

“Product Development (Additive Manufacturing)”

  • Project aim was to gain knowledge of product development through Additive manufacturing (AM) or 3D printing, a cost-effective process of creating a 3D object by adding materials layer by layer.
  • Gained an understanding of the part fabrication benefits, most distinctively, reduction in waste and the possibility of producing complex parts that cannot be made by traditional manufacturing.
  • Chose and justified a material, developed a product in Netfab, performed an in-depth analysis with AM processes applied and presented a detailed report.

“Renewable Energy Project (DELWP)”

  • This Victorian government project generated 1300 MW of clean electricity through use of wind turbines.
  • It implemented a functional onshore wind farm in Port Albert with a full-scale 186 turbine wind farm which supplies power to Victoria.

“Shell Tube Heat Exchanger”

  • The project consisted of an experiment conducted to evaluate and study the performance of the shell tube heat exchanger, heat load, heat balance, overall heat transfer. Heat exchanger device was designed to transfer or exchange heat from one matter to another and concluded that the pressure drop depends on the flow rate not the temperature.
  • Led the team of 3 members in the project to calibrate the readings of heat flows in
  • Heat Exchanger, which is used in air conditioners, cars and prove useful in modern day engineering.

"QFD analysis on drone design"

  • Researched the challenges faced on implementing Quality Function Deployment (QFD) for manufacturing companies.
  • Presented QFD matrix acting as a manufacturer designing delivery drones for a company.
