  • While at OPPD I have been on a heavy construction crew that preforms construction, maintenance, & operation of the districts underground distribution systems equipment and facilitates.
  • Assisting other crafts repair overhead or underground equipment on emergency storm work to get power restored to customers.
  • Knowledge setting & terminating pad mount transformers & pedestals. construction of switchgear basements, assisting in setting/removing 600, & 200amp switches along with reading blueprint to install conduit to proper line and load side according to spec.
  • Knowledgeable in various Hand/power tools, hydraulic tools & equipment, & pneumatic tools.
  • Operate various heavy construction equipment, such as Backhoe, excavators, skid steer, trencher, ring-o-matic suck vac, & digger derrick.
  • Assist crews downtown in building, maintaining, repairing Underground network vaults and manholes.
  • Excavate to set pre-formed Manhole vaults, then build duct banks, construction of forms to pour concrete, backfill duct bank. Also blow jet line or mule tap using air compressor.
  • Locate and trouble shoot underground cable faults by responding to outages and assisting lineman or cable splicers in any way possible and to pinpoint fault location and dig up for repair so power can be restored promptly.
  • Use all proper PPE including masks, harness, gloves hardhat, glasses, and ear buds to preform concrete core drills, asphalt/concrete saw cuts and using a pneumatic air gun to chip concrete in underground manholes for conduit and duct banks.
  • Install underground residential distribution systems (URD).
  • Assist in Emergency house service secondary cable faults.
  • Promote a positive work environment by cooperating with team members and always demonstrating strong work ethic at all times.
  • Always brief with team before work begins to ensure everyone is on the same page.
  • Work on bore crews installing pole boxes, switchgear basements and direct bury cable.

• Repair and rebuild railroad track using power and non-power hand tools also hydraulic tools.

• Lift/carry track material, using manpower, heavy machinery, train cranes or boom truck.

• Cut brush, trees, and vegetation.

• Clear right-of-way cargo spillage and debris.

• Perform maintenance by pulling spikes from ties, drilling holes through rails for bolt insertion, and fitting bolts.

• Cut rail using hydraulic grinding saw or by torching.

• Manually compress ballast between ties using 75lb hydraulic hand tamper.

• Remove/install ties using backhoe or special railroad machines and using sledgehammers to spike down rail to tie, if needed use hydraulic hand spiker when there’s a lot of ties being installed.

• Lift, roll, and adjust rails and load on truck following DOT regulations, strapping down to ensure safety.

• Operate non-powered hand tools such as shovels, picks, axes, cutters, sledgehammers.

• Operate proper electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic hand tools such as drills, impact wrenches, jacks, power saws, and grinders.

  • Respond to emergency calls 24/7 on holidays weekends and nights.
  • Work 24/hrs. + at times.
  • Work through all types of weather.
  • Operate various heavy equipment including Loaders, excavators, backhoes, skid steers, and many types of on track railroad machines.
  • Send in daily reports of job completion & pre job large projects. Along with manually entering time and expense for myself & my work crew members with personal company issued computer.
  • Drive company trucks and use booms, saws, grinders, torch systems and battery powered tools to service interruptions in different states and to restore service and fix track infrastructure.
