My workday consisted of working with students for six hours each day and one hour assisting in the office. My responsibilities as SEA were to ensure that the kids I work with has their needs taken care of at all times. As a SEA I worked with Kindergarten, 1st grade, 5th grade, and 6th graders with ASD. I read their IEP to learn more about their needs and also to assist the teachers in fulfilling their needs when needed. I also assisted with ELA and Math lessons in small groups. Adding on, I also aided the ELD teacher by translating documents and interpreting for Spanish-speaking families, as well I lead the ELD after-school reading club. I also worked in the office assisting with making phone calls as needed as well as doing other office essentials as needed.
