Cared for patients on a cardiothoracic and vascular surgery floor. Managed chest tubes, feeding tubes, drains, and analyzed EKG strips. Additional skills include,

• Administering blood products and monitoring vital signs to address immediate concerns.
• Collaborating with interdisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes through effective communication and care coordination.
• Educating patients and families on post-operative care procedures and recovery expectations.
• Assisting with wound care, dressing changes and NG tube placement to maintain stable patient conditions.

Worked together with a preceptor on a med/surg floor. While being supervised by my preceptor I used the following skills.

• Monitored vital signs and reported changes to ensure timely medical interventions.
• Supported clinical staff by preparing equipment and supplies for various medical procedures efficiently.
• Assisted with activities of daily living by helping patients with bathing, changing clothes, eating, and daily hygiene tasks.
• Handled specimen collection and prepared for transport to facilitate laboratory testing.
