Leadership Roles

BRAIN DEATH ORGAN TRANSPLANTATION PROGRAMME

During my tenure at the transplant center, which was in its initial phase and limited to live donors, I recognized the pressing need for brain death transplants in our country. Taking on a leadership role, I spearheaded the establishment of a groundbreaking brain dead transplant program through collaborative efforts with various hospitals, including trauma centers and neuro hospitals, as well as government authorities. My involvement extended to policy-making, forging partnerships, and creating awareness about the program's benefits. Utilizing audiovisual media content, we effectively conveyed the importance of brain death transplants, culminating in the successful implementation of the program – a historic milestone for our nation's healthcare system.

COVID 19 PANDEMIC

During the COVID-19 pandemic, I displayed exceptional leadership by actively engaging with the media, giving multiple television interviews, and participating in live debates to counter misinformation and debunk rumors about the virus. Through my articles in major newspapers, I encouraged the public to trust scientific information and follow safety precautions. Additionally, I played a crucial role in forming a special task force in collaboration with the Nepal Medical Association. As the state incharge, I led efforts to respond to people suffering from COVID-19, providing medical assistance, telemedicine services, and distributing personal protective equipment to high-risk groups. My dedication helped protect communities and promote public health during the challenging times.

ADVOCACY IN MEDICAL EDUCATION POLICY MAKING

As a leader in the recently formed Medical Education Commission, I played a vital role in advocating for the interests and perspectives of younger doctors. By actively participating in policy-making, I contributed to shaping the regulatory framework and standards for medical education in Nepal
