
Diligent Correctional Officer employs various management styles to supervise inmate activity. Persuasive leadership qualities generate respect and compliance from problematic residents. Detailed supervision during day-to-day prisoner interactions.
Maintaining Order: Enforcing rules, settling disputes between inmates.
Supervising Inmates: Overseeing activities, monitoring behavior, and conducting head counts.
Escorting Inmates: Transporting inmates to medical visits, programming, and other locations.
Inspecting facility: Ensuring that the facility meets safety and security requirements.
Responding to emergencies, providing security and medical assistance as necessary.
Report writing for disciplinary purposes, additional charges, general information, positive, and negative C-notes.
Assisting with rehabilitation: Assisting SOTP and SUTP programming staff, as requested, in the management of programming community standards, behavior expectations, conflict resolution mediation, class, and therapy attendance.
Urine Analysis (UA): Conduct UA's on all inmates within Green Housing Unit.
Strip and Cell Searches: Searches for contraband, nuisance contraband, items not authorized to possess within the USCF.
Mentor inmates in the rehabilitation process, adjusting to structure, applying tools learned in programming and therapy to daily social interactions with staff and civilian volunteers, and other offenders with whom they are housed.
Drug Interdiction Recovery Team Member (DIRT):
Investigate information received from inmates, kites, monitoring phone conversations, social media accounts, outside agencies, within USCF.
Searches for contraband. Organize and implement mass or targeted cell, dorm, communal area, and on person searches utilizing available housing officers, OIT’s, CERT. Submitting findings/outcomes to USCF chain of command and LEB, as necessary.
Monitor incoming and outgoing inmate mail with assistance from USCF mail room and property department.
Monitor and supervise inmates in person and video visits, as necessary, based on obtained information.
Record, document CashApp, Venmo accounts found in inmates' property, connecting them with outside sources, to track financial transactions between inmates.
