I played for Napa Valley's Women's Basketball Team for both my freshman and sophomore year. I also played basketball for The University of Saint Katherine's and for California State University of Maritime Academy. Playing basketball at the collegiate level was very physically and mentally demanding, especially while having a full course load. It has taught me time-management, communication skills, teamwork, and hard work. I also was a captain for my team during my sophomore and junior season. This taught me to find successful means for communicating amongst each player individually as well as each coach and even to each referee. I also learned how to be a role model and lead by example. During my sophomore season as team captain my team had won the first ever playoff game in program history as well as tied the WBB program for most games won in a season. I believe our success that season came from our team culture and togetherness as a group. I am proud to have been a captain to one of Napa's most winningest women's basketball teams.
