Work History

Babysitter

06.2023 - 07.2024
  • When babysitting toddlers and elementary school children, I enjoy coloring, swimming, watching movies and playing any imaginative game they can come up with
  • Not every day is the glamorous calm day
  • I find myself chasing after them and shouting 'put that down' from across the house
  • Nonetheless, it's my responsibility to keep these children safe so I have learned that patience is a virtue

Pet Sitter

06.2023 - 07.2024
  • Along with babysitting, I enjoy getting to pet sit my family friends' dogs while they are away on vacation
  • I enjoy taking the dogs on walks in the neighborhood and throwing the ball for them in the backyard
  • Beyond that it is a lot of responsibility as I'm also in charge of the properties while the owners are away
  • I have to make sure to set all the alarms back and lock all the doors to ensure their house is safe
  • It makes me happy to know there are families who trust me enough to give me their pets to take care of while they are gone

Participant

Team Prep USA Camp
06.2023 - 06.2024
  • Entering my junior year, I decided to challenge myself and improve my running skills
  • So, after some research, I found this camp in Colorado
  • That truly was a once in a lifetime experience
  • While there, I had the opportunity to meet athletes from all over the world
  • There were runners from Canada, France, Japan, every US state: it was amazing
  • It was definitely very intimidating not knowing anybody
  • However, I put myself out there and made lifelong friendships
  • Getting to train with national champions was very inspiring and gave me a new understanding of motivation and self-discipline

Cross Country Camp

Hallsville High School
07.2021 - 07.2022
  • The cross country camp was organized by my school
  • We trained hard and one of our workouts was to run a mile every hour for 12 hours; it was a long day to say the least
  • I spent quality time with my teammates and even had the opportunity to meet runners from other high schools
  • I learned the importance of commitment and doing my best to effectively achieve my goals
