My main objective for this role was to assist the Family Consumer Sciences (FCS) Agent. I worked with her to manage and organize upcoming events and educate the community on various topics. With this position, I was also involved in vaccine promotion and education.
• Another important role of mine was nutrition education at the two Head-Start programs in Lafayette, TN.This involved speaking at each program once a week and exposing them to a variety of foods.
• We also hosted a 3-week Dining with Diabetes course. This was offered to everyone in the community, but we mainly advertised towards the senior citizens.
In this role, I provided assistance in Advanced Nutrition Research and Medical Nutrition Therapy. My responsibilities included planning future assignments, creating quizzes, grading, and mentoring underclassmen as needed.
• I also held weekly office hours for any student that needed help. Reviewed their research projects, and occasionally taught class.
