I am a very highly motivated and dedicated undergraduate student at Michigan State University. I am currently working towards a major degree in Human Biology, along with a minor in Jewish Studies.
During my senior year of high school, I shadowed a Vascular Surgeon during my senior year of high school While shadowing her, I had the incredible and unforgettable opportunity of witnessing several different surgical procedures firsthand Some of these procedures include: two leg amputations, a hip disarticulation and replacement with the removal of a hip joint prosthesis, a thrombectomy and embolectomy with a fasciotomy, an aortobifemoral bypass, an endovascular aortic aneurysm repair, a carotid endarterectomy, a venogram with a stent placement, and an angiogram with an atherectomy and a balloon angioplasty
During summer 2023, I shadowed an OB/GYN, Doctor Andrea Eisenberg. I got to see different cases, such as birth control consults, fetal ultrasounds, IUD removals, pessary insertions, pap smears, pelvic and breast exams.
During both middle and high school, I participated on my school's Varsity Girls' Swim and Dive Team, as well as the Symphony Orchestra. I was a competitive free-style distance swimmer, and greatly enjoyed competing in the 500 Free event at meets. In the orchestra, I played the Violin and have participated in many concerts, ensemble performances, festivals, and also attended a performing arts camp where I played Violin! To this day, I still greatly enjoy doing both in my free time!
During the summer of 2023, between May and August, I volunteered at Beaumont Hospital - Corewell Health in Royal Oak, MIchigan. I volunteered at the 2 South PACU two days per week, earning a grand total of 90 volunteer hours. I took care of patients as they were waking up from anesthesia, post surgery. I brought them blankets & drinks/snacks, helped transport in-patients to their new hospital rooms, and I discharged out-patients.
I am an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Klump Lab at Michigan State University. I am currently in my training process, as I began in January of 2024. Eventually, I will be qualified to run assessments, individually, with research participants.
