CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

- Valley Health Center, San Jose, CA , November 2023. Under the supervision of the RN or LVN I assisted with the care of adult patients and pediatric patients. I was responsible for the initial evaluation of each patient along with vital signs, medication administration, immunizations (injections), and discharge teaching. I was also responsible for performing visual and hearing exams. Additionally, I assisted with other minor medical procedures such as Foley catheter insertion, Pap smears, ultrasounds, and EKGs. Additionally, I had the opportunity to assist with the collection of sample laboratory values following infection safety control and clinical site policies.

- Plum Tree, Care center, Nursing Home, San Jose, CA, October 2023. Under the supervision of RN and Lvn, I assisted with the care of adult residents. I was responsible for providing care and assisting residents with ADLs, assisting with resident transfers, providing comfort, and preventing sores. Additionally, I was responsible for taking VS and Finger stick under the supervision of my instructor. I also assisted with other minor medical procedures such as Foley catheter insertion, wound care, enema, stretching catheter, feeding tube, vaccinations, insulin, medication administration, nebulizer among others. Additionally, this clinical experience helped me develop my communication skills, critical thinking, and self-confidence.
