  • I worked with Dr. to study the baseline characteristics, complications, and gaps in evidence-based interventions in children and adults with rheumatic heart disease from low and middle-income countries. My role consisted of seeing patients and taking their histories, doing physical examinations, and assisting in echocardiography of symptomatic patients. After the research was conducted, I followed up with patients to see if they had any lingering questions or concerns.   • There is much suffering and pain in life, I believe that each person has the ability to impact the lives of others in a meaningful way. Many people believe the answer to impacting people in a life altering way can only be achieved by drastic changes on a large and global scale. I believe in the action and power of the small things.
