Clubs/Volunteer Work

Organization: Explain The Asterisk

Member - Fall 2017-Present

ETA is an organization that advocates and fights against the injustice of sexual assault, particularly among college students. ETA was created by one of my closest friends who a survived a horrific assault herself. She created this organization with just a few close friends during the fall of our freshman year. ETA has quickly grown from just a dozen, to hundreds of UVM students. I am proud to be one of my friends biggest supporters, and a founding member of this wonderful organization.

Organization: NEADS

Volunteer: Spring 2016-Fall 2017

NEADS is an internationally recognized organization that provides service dogs to individuals with disabilities. They produce highly trained service animals to children with autism, those who are deaf or physically disabled, and veterans suffering from PTSD. My role as a volunteer was to walk, feed, and care for all the dogs at our location. I was also responsible for helping to match the right dogs with the right person based on the temperament of the dog and the type of disability of the client.

Organization: UVM Outing Club

Member: Fall 2017-Present

The UVM outing club gives students the opportunity to experience nature through many different types of expeditions. I've been lucky enough to go on several trips from backpacking trips, rock-climbing courses, and winter camping. These experiences have not only enhanced my understanding and appreciation for nature, but have allowed me to expand my social network and form life long relationships.
