I am currently a Business Analytics student at Benedictine University. I am also a student athlete and I play basketball for the university. Being a student athlete has taught me many skills which include: teamwork, communication, time management, leadership, discipline, setting goals and finding ways to reach them, mental toughness, concentration, and dedication. My previous work that I have done is all manual labor. Manual Labor has taught me many skills as well which include: adaptability, flexibility, following safety procedures, being detail- oriented, and stamina. As a business student I have taken classes that have taught me a lot about the business world. Some of these classes include, Management, Business Law, Business Communications, Business Professionalism and Responsibility, and Marketing. These classes have taught me skills along with some business like experiences with some of the assignments I have completed.
Throughout my life I have had many experiences where I was able to share my knowledge of basketball with others. When I was just 15 years old I had the opportunity to be a fifth grade basketball coach. Not only was I able to share my knowledge and skills, but I also learned how to lead others and realize that depending on the person you have to communicate with each person differently. I also have had the opportunity of helping out with kids camps that my university put on. I was able to reach skills and also make a fun environment for the kids that were involved. Basketball has taught me so much in my life and it made me happy that I was able to share some of my knowledge with others.
