Aiden Cheney

I am an eager and dedicated student looking forward to obtaining a master’s in Mechanical Engineering. In college, I want to employ and expand upon the leadership and intellectual skills I have gained through my education and extracurricular activities. I aim to enhance my social and academic knowledge through collaborative learning environments and hands on experience.

• Robowranglers FIRST Robotics Team, Mechanical Lead, PIT Boss, Technician, PIT Crew Member - As Mechanical Team Lead and Pit Boss I led fabrication and construction, oversaw and organized pit operations, created, calibrated, tuned, and maintained autonomous robot components, and ensured the complete functionality of the robot throughout competitions.
• VEX Robotics, Designer, Builder, Programmer, Driver - I work with a four-member team to design, build, and code numerous robots. We compete at events, winning multiple competitions and qualifying for the world championships. I assist in analyzing and documenting our team's progress through detailed notebooks.
• Greenville High School Golf, Varsity Team, North Texas Junior PGA - I compete in regional competitive tournaments. I direct practices through stations and games to foster team growth and personal leadership.
• Greenville High School Lion Pride Band - I am the 1st trumpet in concert, marching, and jazz band. As trumpet section leader, I organize and lead sectionional practices and give lessons to other players.

• Robotics - I organize and lead inclusive workshops for middle and high school students while mentoring and inspiring underclassmen in VEX and FRC. I create online resources, host tournaments, and collaborate with other teams worldwide.
• Rotary Interact - As secretary, I organize and participate in various service projects, raise funds, manage club service hours, and engage in outreach to recruit new members.
• Key Club - I attend various service projects such as a local mobile food pantry and fish ministry food banks, and have devoted more than 150 hours of service.

• Book club - As my school's book club vice president, I organized and ran meetings for the club while sharing my creative and social spark through intellectual literature discussions. We volunteer at local Pre-Ks, reading and doing various activities with students.
• Art and Art Club - I explore my creative interests through expressive pieces and projects. I have also participated in multiple projects across the school. I created murals and repainted parts of the school, beautifying the learning environment.
• Creating Music - I enjoy creating trumpet and full band pieces of music, usually in classical or marching styles.

• Superintendent Scholar - I maintained 90% grade average within all classes through each year, 2022, 2023, 2024
• 2nd Team All-District - I was nominated for the Texas 5A Boys Golf 2nd Team All-District
• RYLArian - I was accepted into the Rotary Youth Leadership Award camp, 2024
• RYLA Advisory Committee - After camp, I was one of 50 campers invited back to the advisory committee for extra training in preparation for my return as a counselor.
• Vex - Multiple Awards including Worlds Qualification, 2x Competition winner, Build, Create
• FRC - Multiple Awards including World Industrial Design Award, State Quality award, 3x Engineering Excellence, Curie division winner, Daly Division Finalist, 6x Competition Winner
