I currently work as a licensed substance abuse counselor, where I provided one on one substance abuse therapy to a variety of individuals
During these sessions I help clients address their substance abuse issues using evidenced based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
I also currently have two Intensive Outpatient groups (IOP) where I show clients new and healthy ways to address cravings and work through difficult emotions

During my session’s, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and mindfulness skills
When working with Krossroads clients, I also document one on one sessions, as well as work with the client on formulating an adequate treatment plan that is achievable and can be committed to and reassessed at least every 90 days
I ensure my documentation is reviewed by my supervisor before signing

Some of these forms include: Bio-psycho-social-assessments, Ace questionnaires, PCL-5s, and other important mental health screens
When reviewing these forms, I check to see if clients exhibit homicidality or suicidality and notify my supervisor as needed
I have also been tasked with conducting research on certain mental health topics that can improve the clients experience
