- As a result, the onsite Contractor management program has a robust system that adequately manages risk and has reduced significant construction-related incidents
- Support all Engineering and Property Services Projects onsite; engaging with site employees, Project Managers, and Construction Management groups to ensure J&J EHS requirements are included in the design and construction phases of all new projects
- Lead incident investigations, and root cause analysis related to occupational injuries and illnesses in R&D laboratories
- Oversee the implementation of correction actions related to onsite injuries and exposures; resulting in the use of safer sharps, improved biological handling practices, and enhanced use of laboratory engineering controls
- Developed online R&D Biological Sharps Inventory Management system; identified an Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) regulatory need for an annual sharps inventory
- Site-wide training, communication, and electronic forms were delivered to R&D laboratories
- As a result, biological sharps inventory data collected over 700 sharps inventory forms, allowing for improved biological sharps data and identification of incorrect sharps used in laboratories
- An active member of the Janssen Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC) and R&D Laboratory Safety and Environmental Committee (LSEC); present critical safety and biological incident data and provide training for various safety and biosafety program needs, such as safe biological sample handling and transport and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) while working in the laboratory
