Grader, Intro to Computer Systems

Computer Science Department
09.2023 - Current
  • Evaluated and graded students' homework, offering constructive advice and writing weekly reports to professors about common errors.
  • Informed students about better debugging strategies and approaches to parallel computing, machine hardware, pointers, etc., which significantly improved performance on final exams.

Green Advisor

Office Of Sustainability
08.2023 - Current
  • As a resident peer leader, assisted students to engage in sustainable living on campus and provided mentorship through weekly office hours.
  • Collected and analyzed big data on campus outdoor trash system to recommend and implement solutions that minimize unnecessary waste.

Peer Mentor, Intro to HPC Bootcamp

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (NERSC)
07.2023 - 08.2023
  • Provided structured lessons on Jupyter Notebooks, NumPy/Pandas, Geopandas, High-performance Computing, and navigating Supercomputers.
  • Mentored six students to develop a program utilizing the ClimRR Portal and Geopandas to explore the overlap between future energy crises and vulnerable populations.

Education

Bachelor of Science - Computer Science Major, Math & English Minor

Swarthmore College
Swarthmore, PA

Projects

Approximating Poisson's Equation using Finite Element Method (Python)

  • Developed a Python algorithm that approximates Poisson's Equation by creating functions that calculated the grid space, basis functions and their derivatives, and piecewise linear "tent" functions for each interval.

Conway's Game of Life (C):

  • Parallelized Conway's Game of Life by utilizing threading, synchronization between threads, and dynamically allocated grids.

Awards

Thomas McCabe Scholarship

  • A four-year, full-tuition merit scholarship awarded to students who have "exhibited exceptional academic achievement, character, and leadership qualities."
