Had a company car. Called on agencies to solve problems, advise new programs, programs, rewards, solve computer issues.
Held various positions located in Lansing MI, Nashville, TN, White Bear Lake, MN, back to Lansing, MI, Gaylord, MI, back to Lansing, MI. Each move brought a promotion and new position. Some of these were Senior Underwriter which involved selection of exposures, Underwriting Field Representative involving going to the customer and determining if the property was safe and making recommendations if it wasn't, Field Premium Auditor which involved calling on larger clients to determine proper premium to be charged.

- Farm safety - I grew up on a farm for the first 5 years of my life and then moved to town, but my Dad managed a grain elevator / feed mill So, from an early age I drove farm equipment on a back lot the feed mill had and when old enough, larger trucks I had my own truck when I was 16 and did side work delivering The mill had a large machine shop that I worked in from age 8 This would be minor things like oil changes or assembling wagon drive trains From the age of 16, I also drive the larger trucks delivering or going to other cities to get supplies I would also unload and load train cars with various products, such as feed, fertilizer, steel fencing, etc
- Tractor safety and operation came at an early age from driving various size tractors around town making deliveries pulling a trailer These were not the larger loads,though
- Agriculture equipment experience from setting up and testing equipment when it was brought in or readied for sale and delivery
- Safety standards and protocols were learned working around the mill and various other places not the least was the Beet Harvest
- Garden center knowledge was gained from selling garden seeds and other items in the summer including what farmers needed
- Cash Handling experience was taught at an early age from the mill and other jobs since
- Cooperative Attitude was a necessity when working with other associates or customers My employer, Auto Owners, stressed this with every job and most importantly when a Marketing Representative!
Additional Information
The time between my graduation from Big Rapids High School and beginning Ferris State University was spent in the US Army, which included a tour of Vietnam.
