After graduating high school, I went to University for a semester and realized college is not for me. I started training for a sales program and using the skills I learned there, I decided to start a business with my friend.
We decided to detail cars because of the low start up costs. We practiced on cars owned by family members so we could become more efficient, test detailing products and dial-in the services we wanted to provide. We marketed ourselves through door-to-door knocking as learned in the sales program. Our first client was so happy with our work, she recommended us to her husband. He scheduled an appointment for the following week and gave us a nice tip. Detailing cars lead to other jobs like yard work and painting. Thinking ahead, car detailing may be seasonal, so I am looking for another opportunity. I enjoy working on a team because when you are on a team, each person plays the position they fit best in which makes everything more efficient.
