As Aircrew Program Manager (MD-11) I was responsible for the adequacy of aircrew ground and flight training/testing and standards for specific aircraft of my assigned air carrier. My Work was performed under the general supervision of the Principal Operations Inspector (POI). I also managed programs on assigned aircraft (MD-11) including designated examiners and/or Aircrew Program Designees (APD).

As an Air Carrier Principal Inspector (Operations) I functioned as the primary operations interface between my assigned air carriers/air operators/air agencies/airmen/designees and the FAA. My responsibility was to assure that assigned organizations meet Federal Aviation Regulations with respect to operations programs and performed inspections to assure adherence to the applicable regulations.

  • Monitored pilot training programs for accuracy and adherence to regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensured that all personnel involved in aviation operations are properly trained in accordance with FAA regulations.
  • Investigated air accidents to determine root cause.
  • Accessed FAA databases such as EFSAS, SAS and SPAS to obtain necessary flight and regulatory information.
  • Conducted oral and written examinations to test competency of aircraft operators.
