Field Research

09/2019, 02/2020, Through the months of September 2019 through February 2020, I conducted research as a graduate student along with other undergraduate students. Responsibilities included setting and checking traps 5 days and 5 nights throughout these months, also, leading and aiding the undergraduates with any issues they came across. Aside from those duties, this research period also included data calculations, critical thinking and utilizing programs such as ArcGIS.

Internship

The Texas Zoo, Victoria, Texas, Got to interact with various animal species that were displayed throughout the Texas Zoo in Victoria, Texas. Got to hold several animals to showcase them when there were field trips, tours among other events. Some of these animals were barns owls, snakes, opossums, vultures as well as raccoons., 200

Volunteer Experience

  • Veterans Day event, 2015, 2019, To commemorate the former individuals that have served our country by being part of the military, an event is held yearly where we provide and serve food to these people. Helping serve food, clean up and set up the luncheon made for them.
  • Día Del Rio, 2014, 2015, 2018, As part of a yearly event that helps with cleaning up the Paso Del Indio at the Laredo Community College section, I took part of this for two years by helping clean up areas to be able to plant new trees as well as picking up trash from these sections.
  • Laredo Animal Protective Society, 2018, 2019, Volunteering with this society requires one to be able to be flexible with changing duties. From cleaning the kennels where the dogs are in to cleaning their bowls of food among other things is what I do every time I go.
  • Best Friends For Life, 2016, Cleaned kennels at Petco for cats that were up for adoption. From transferring the cats from one kennel to another to make their temporary home much cleaner and comfortable while they waited to find their forever home.

On my free time, I do attempt new sewing projects. Also, set a goal of reading books throughout the months. Lastly, distance running is a sport I really enjoy, where I am always looking to improve my time.
