Wildout Animal and Pest Removal

  • Hired on and progressed quickly by learning the ins and outs of exclusions and trapping for wild animals and using the correct chemicals for pest removal
  • Scheduling service for route customers every month, bimonthly, and quarterly
  • Using lifts and ladders (in a range of 6ft to 60ft) for exclusions
  • Keeping track of inventory on the truck for materials needed for different jobs
  • Using correct products for pest control/animal control
  • Planning each day accordingly for efficiency to make sure each customer is serviced correctly and ensuring customer satisfaction.

XPO Logistics

  • I was hired at XPO to be the Warehouse Manager for the Last Mile Hub in Tampa
  • My job duties were as follows: Managing the material handlers (productivity, attendance, and overall utilizing warehouse resources)
  • Managing and scheduling inbound and outbound shipments
  • In charge of the inventory (daily, weekly, and monthly), along with ensuring every piece that was received that day is accounted for daily
  • Scanning in freight and scanning freight to the doors for daily routes
  • Picking and staging
  • Maintaining the daily BOL's and paperwork for the day/week
  • Preparing shipments for pickups
  • Maintaining a safe work environment, no questions asked
  • Leading and helping teach the employees about the processes set to ensure the daily tasks were completed each day.

Southeastern Freight Lines

  • I started with SEFL as a part-time freight handler at the South Charlotte service center moving freight from the city trucks to line haul units, using pallet jacks and forklifts
  • After the shift, I stayed to do the hooks at night for the line haul drivers using the switcher and tractors
  • In January 2015, I was offered a full-time job on the inbound shift as a lead man which consisted of doing the routes for the city units along with loading the trailers for P&D
  • In January 2016, I became an Inbound Supervisor at our Rocky Mount service center
  • My family relocated to Eastern NC where I was able to progress my leadership skills by learning the processes (dock efficiency, transit times, bills per exception, P&D cost, and OS&D) of the company
  • June of 2017, I came back to the South Charlotte service center as a P&D supervisor where I worked in the pickup and delivery side of the business, assigning pickups, working customer service, learning the OS&D processes, and riding with P&D drivers to really see the process as a whole
  • August 2018, I went back to an Inbound supervisor to help with the increase of freight, being from the area was an asset to the operation
  • January 2019, I became an Outbound Supervisor as this was the only part of the company I have not completed
  • Here I am over the Load average process and Exceptions process
  • My time with SEFL has showed me how to be a serving leader and live the culture with the company.

IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers)

  • I started with the IBEW as a general electrician in August of 2012
  • I worked several small jobs along with building a Data Center in late 2012
  • While working with the IBEW, my duties were wire pulling, laying underground and above ground conduit, bending conduit and landing into switch gear
  • I was trained using a Trimble, which is a device to take measurements from blueprints and layout the ground for the underground pipes to come up and land into the bottom of the switch gear
  • I was lift certified, boom, articulating, scissor, and lull
  • I pulled control wires and terminated said wires for generators, switch gear, and main/back up breakers
  • I worked a short call for the DNC, Democratic National Convention, in Charlotte 2012
  • We pulled all the cable wires for the major TV stations that televised the event
  • We terminated these wires after the pulls.

Wal-Mart Distribution

03.2011 - 06.2012
  • I started on the shipping dock and was there for over a year which I hand loaded the trailers and pallets of freight at a high paced production
  • Then in January, I transferred to the Non-Con order filling department where all the non-conveyable freight was order filled by a forklift, moved from one palate to another for individual stores around the southeast, also at a high paced production.

MCC Mechanical

08.2010 - 09.2010
  • I worked on the Harrah's Casino and Hotel expansion in Cherokee, NC
  • While there I was considered a laborer - my duties were to move heavy equipment and other supplies around the construction site
  • I also was a helper to the head welder
  • I was unable to continue with this job due to transportation problems that have since been resolved.

Discount Tire

04.2010 - 08.2010
  • I began here as a tire tech
  • By June, I was a crew chief and changed, balanced, and installed tires
  • I also helped with inventory, by unloading the truck twice a week with sometimes 500 plus tires at a time
  • I left this position for an opportunity to explore welding as a career with MCC Mechanical.

Advance Auto Parts

04.2008 - 02.2010
  • I started working at Advance part-time while in college
  • After a year, I moved to full-time and in another 4 to 5 months, I was promoted to Assistant Manager/Parts Pro
  • The Assistant manager position gave me more responsibilities - including opening and closing the stores, counting money, shipping and receiving orders to and from the warehouse, picking and packing those orders, and helping customers troubleshoot problems on their vehicles.
