Summary

Near decade long career in the military, primarily serving within naval special operations. Seasoned US Navy SEAL operator offering several years of special operations deployments and combat training experiences before entering an instructor position at Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUD/S) training in May of 2023. Since beginning instruction of prospective SEAL students, instructor duties have focused on teaching diving skills to SEAL students of limited or no experience. SEAL operator duties include:

  • Performed high risk training to include: small-arms live fire tactics, close quarters combat, high explosive breaching, automatic and demolition weaponary, military freefall, combat diving, fast roping, and maritime operations.
  • Provided guidance to fire-team members on tactical operations, battle procedures, and mission objectives.
  • Utilized radio communication devices to coordinate movement of SEAL operators within an area of operation.
  • Supervised small arms qualification ranges and fast roping operations for personnel under my command.
  • Maintained accountability of personnel and equipment during operations.
  • Monitored the performance of subordinates in order to improve effectiveness as a SEAL platoon.

SEAL instructor duties include:

  • Assessed prospective SEAL student performance through physical training, practical exams, and training scenarios.
  • Provided diving-focused first aid care training for SEAL students undergoing underwater training exercises.
  • Trained SEAL students in scuba diving and combat swimmer safety protocols and operational procedures.
  • Mentored prospective SEAL students and monitored character traits and morale of students during training sessions.
  • Managed the High Risk Training Safety Officer (HTRSO) collateral duty within my training department. As HRTSO manager, implemented and facilitated Emergency Action Plan (EAP) protocols and drills. Such program reduced risks associated with physical training activities by enabling an organized medical response during emergency situations.
  • Conducted scuba and combat swimmer diving supervisor duties. Such dive supervisor duties include: pre-dive review of dive site conditions, hazards, and dive objectives. On scene dive supervisor duties include: orchestration of dive profile and management of all supporting personnel, grading dive instructors, military medical personnel, and safety of students/instructor personnel.

I am a proud San Diego native, passionate about public service and safety within our beautiful city.

I have been married for three incredible years to my wife, Sarah. We have a beautiful one and a half year old boy together and are expecting our second child this October, 2024!

Following my military career I intend to pursue a career in medicine.
