Alexander Toft

Sioux Falls,SD

Summary

I started my achievements when I was in 7th grade when I joined Mathcounts, a math competition where I got 8th place out of everyone in the middle school and went to regionals. My 8th grade year I made Mathcounts again and got 4th place out of my school, made it to state and almost made it to nationals. My 9th grade year I participated in our school's JROTC and football team which taught me leadership skills as well as responsibility and how to follow directions. I participated in several community service events for JROTC my first semester. My second semester of my 9th grade year I was in Church on the Street, led by Chris Matson, which is a community event for the homeless where we passed out tye-dye shirts and served food. The summer of my 9th grade year I went to the USD music camp where I played violin and learned how music education worked. The experience showed me a lot about directing people and how to present myself in a friendly way. Now, during my sophomore year, I'm currently taking several Advanced Placement classes (AP classes) while also participating in clubs and sports such as baseball and wrestling.
