Job overview

  • Though it might appear I have a resume concealing a glaring gap in professional jobs, in all reality there could be no better sales preparation than that of an entertainer who is equipped with 13 years of experience with a bevy of translatable skills.
  • Worked to build relationships with customers and further built potential for additional sales in the form of authentically engaging, which inspires loyalty, and commitment from the clientele.

  • Fostered lasting relationships with customers through effective communication and quick response, resulting in long-term loyalty and expanded client base.
  • Performed effectively in self-directed work environment, managing day-to-day operations and decisions.
  • Developed, maintained and utilized diverse client base.
  • Fielded customer complaints and facilitated negotiations, resolving issues and reaching mutual conclusions.
  • Enhanced product knowledge by attending training sessions and staying current with industry trends.

University Overview

Though a now resolved medical necessity, premature departure during my thesis year in the Sociology and Gender Studies departments came to pass due to health. However, the inclination toward such studies never waned and found purchase in the more practical application. My thesis, though only partially completed, led to my future expertise in entertainment—once restricted to the world of academia, now riddled with anecdotal knowledge. Such a cross section of experiences provided me the honor of being asked to address the topic, teaching the major donors of an unnamed, infamous women’s health organization about various topics regarding these stigmatized communities.

Dungeons and Dragons

Though it might be a game, it is more akin to collaborative storytelling which is much more indicative of its relevance to the professional environment.

  • The collaborative element is crucial—you are one of a party and, as such, must learn to communicate, trust, and work together (even delegating) as these characters grow and ideally evolve to make it onward to another game. There are no main characters, much like in life.
  • Creative problem solving is perhaps my favorite method in DnD, the simplest route rarely makes an impression or holds anything of note. Quick, resourceful thinking is a necessity in and out of game as plans rarely go perfectly and the ability to collect oneself—utilizing calm improvisation often gains an upper hand that was absent, unbeknownst to everyone.
