Regularly provide services to a diverse group of people (the elderly, disabled, mentally ill, medically incompetent, various socio economic levels, terminally ill) at a skilled nursing facility.
Assists with activities of daily living (ADL) by serving meals and feeding residents. Providing as needed services such as: offering fresh water and snacks, helping residents ambulate, and turning, positioning in bed or chair, and transferring them.
Takes care of patients’ personal hygiene by assisting with or giving bed baths, baths, or showers, toileting by offering bedpans and walking patients to the toilet, providing backrubs and skin care needs; and keeping residents clean and safe at all times.
Follows nurse instructions and supervision to perform minor procedures, including but not limited to administering enemas; applying non-sterile dressings, ice packs, and heat treatments, giving showers or therapeutic baths.
Complies with HIPAA Privacy Act by protecting confidential patient information.
Maintains a professional relationship between residents and their support system with a focus on resident care and safety.
Follows all policies and procedures to maintain a safe nursing facility setting.
Actively participate in all training and continuing education. Maintains certification to meet federal, state, and accreditation standards.
