Project Overview & Purpose: The MCPP project serves as a cornerstone of the Majnoon Growth Program. Its primary purpose is to establish an independent, centralized power generation and distribution infrastructure for the Majnoon Oilfield. This initiative provides reliable, stable power to critical assets, including gas sweetening facilities and degassing stations, ensuring operational autonomy and grid reliability for the field’s expansion.

Executive Scope of Responsibilities: In my capacity as the technical and administrative lead, I have directed the End-to-End (EPC) electrical execution for the facility. This role involves full lifecycle governance, from substation infrastructure development to the complex integration of generation units into the field’s power grid, ensuring strict compliance with international industrial standards and BOC technical specifications.

• Substation & Power Grid Integration:
  Directing the installation and commissioning of a 132/33kV Grid Substation, including the structural alignment and electrical integration of high-capacity Power Transformers.
  Supervising the deployment of GIS/AIS High Voltage switchgear technology, ensuring seamless protection coordination and breaker reliability for the plant’s main feed.
  Managing the complex synchronization panels, ensuring precise frequency and voltage alignment between gas turbine generators and the internal field grid.
• Advanced Electrical Distribution & Control:
  Leading the installation of integrated E-Houses and MV/LV switchgear lineups (33kV, 11kV, and 400V) to support high-intensity industrial loads.
  Overseeing the configuration of Motor Control Centers (MCCs), incorporating VFDs and advanced soft starters to optimize the energy efficiency of compressors, pumps, and cooling systems.
  Ensuring critical control logic and protection schemes are configured to support the high-demand requirements of Gas Sweetening Facilities.
• Infrastructure & Hazardous Area Management:
  Managing the large-scale routing, pulling, and termination of high-voltage cabling and sophisticated instrumentation networks, maintaining strict adherence to ATEX/IECEx standards in designated hazardous zones.
  Executing the design and installation of a robust, interconnected grounding grid, ensuring comprehensive structural bonding and fault current distribution for the entire industrial complex.
• Emergency Power & Control Stability:
  Directing the setup of uninterruptible power systems (UPS) and DC battery banks, ensuring zero-latency power for ESD (Emergency Shutdown) and DCS (Distributed Control) systems.
  Ensuring the integrity of protective relay panels to safeguard turbines and main distribution feeders against transient faults and load imbalances.
• Commissioning, Testing & Technical Governance:
  Acting as the Technical Authority for Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), including primary/secondary current injection for protection relays, VLF/Hi-Pot cable testing, and exhaustive scheme integrity checks.
  Leading the cold and hot loop commissioning processes to validate the readiness of all electrical and control systems before final handover to Basrah Oil Company operations.

Project Title: North Rumaila CS2 Station (NCS2) – Plant Upgradation

Project Overview & Purpose: The primary objective of this brownfield upgradation project was to capture, treat, and compress low-pressure associated gas from degassing stations, effectively eliminating gas flaring. The upgraded compression facilities routed the pressurized gas to NGL plants for final processing.

• Power Distribution & Substation Integration:
  Led the installation, testing, and integration of Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) switchgears, along with modular E-Houses (Substation Buildings).
  Managed the deployment of Motor Control Centers (MCCs) feeding high-capacity gas compressors, cooling fans, and auxiliary pumps, heavily utilizing advanced soft starters and robust MCCB configurations.
  Oversaw the precise configuration and scheme checks of protective relays to ensure system stability, optimal fault clearing, and protection of critical industrial control logic.
  Ensured all power equipment and high-ambient temperature transformers were strictly rated to withstand the extreme climatic conditions of the region.
• Hazardous Area Installations & Cabling Infrastructure:
  Directed the complex routing, pulling, and termination of power, control, and instrumentation cables across the brownfield site.
  Ensured 100% compliance with ATEX/IECEx standards by utilizing explosion-proof (Ex-d / Ex-e) cable glands, junction boxes, and field components in gas-saturated, high-risk zones.
  Executed the installation of industrial LED Explosion-Proof lighting systems and associated conduit networks.
• Grounding, Earthing & Lightning Protection:
  Engineered and executed the expansion of the interconnected grounding network for the plant modification.
  Calculated and managed fault current distribution to ensure the comprehensive bonding of all new mechanical structures, vessels, and electrical equipment, thereby mitigating static discharge risks in a highly combustible environment.
• Instrumentation & Control Systems:
  Supervised the calibration, installation, and integration of field instruments (Pressure, Temperature, and Flow transmitters) into the plant’s Distributed Control System (DCS) and Emergency Shutdown (ESD) systems.
  Managed the installation of critical Vibration Monitoring Systems for the protection of massive rotating equipment and gas compressors.
• Testing, Pre-Commissioning & Handover:
  Acted as the ultimate technical authority during the testing and commissioning phase for industrial substation components.
  Directed the execution of rigorous site acceptance tests, including Hi-Pot/VLF testing for MV cables, Megger insulation tests, and continuity verifications.
  Successfully oversaw the cold and hot loop checks between field instruments and the central control room, culminating in a flawless system handover to BGC operations.

Project: Free Water Knockout (FWKO) Systems & Oil Manifolds Upgrades

Key Responsibilities & Achievements:Directed and executed the comprehensive Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) scope for critical oil infrastructure, ensuring seamless power distribution, precise process control, and facility safety from the construction phase through to final testing and commissioning.
