Summary

I am a first and foremost a life long learner with experience in many fields of education.

I have worked for the past 35 years with students from the Pre-K level to 5th grade successfully building relationships and working diligently to put the students first.

I have taken the time to both work on my skill; music, and the process to work with children; teaching. That has encompasses time spent learning PBIS, Champs, MTSS, Love and Logic and other training programs based on developing relationships with students to ensure success.

I have also had the opportunity to be trained in several coursework hours of reading the science of reading. This has allowed me to work with numerous students in the general classroom setting. It has given me the opportunity to see the struggles that both students and teachers face on a daily basis with incorporating effective teaching strategies to help with behavior, students off task and developing relationships.

I do not believe there is one program or component that works with all students. I DO however believe that given the chance all student can learn given a chance in an environment they can thrive in.

Sometimes that environment is not the classroom setting and we need to realize that one size fits all does not work in an educational setting. I believe in being flexible, empathetic to all, and understanding of both teachers and students. I believe in supporting a teacher and validating their concerns and doing my best to help them and the student be successful.

Teaching in today's world is already incredibly difficult and stressful. I would love to be a part of that process that makes the day a bit easier, a bit brighter and lets a teacher find solace that they are not alone.
