Alison Carey

I am currently a junior studying Exercise Science with a minor in Psychology to continue on COTA- track (certified occupational therapy assistant- track) post-graduate. I had the opportunity this past summer to shadow a licensed occupational therapist at South Shore Therapies in Norwood, MA, observing patients with a broad range of cognitive and motor delays. This experience has encouraged me to pursue a career in occupational therapy because of the impact I single-handedly observed on these patients and their progress in such a encouraging and comforting environment.

I currently volunteer weekly at the Preschool on campus at Auburn University called the Early Learning Center. I am able to gain pediatric experience in hopes to continue with a career pediatric occupational therapy. I hope to incorporate more occupational therapy practices to help the students reach their developmental milestones.
