Skills

Teamwork: This is a virtue I have worked with since the onset of my professional career in the addiction field I have successfully piloted a team of 6 members to organize the administrative functions needed to run a whole State command Efficient communication, time management, brainstorming among members on how to meet our deadlines were key qualities that facilitated my achievement The results of my achievement further afforded the appointment into a similar role when I got transferred to the South-East region, Anambra State

Staff Management: My experience as a Deputy team leader in the Drug supply reduction department gave me the reason to interact closely and directly with a larger number of 26 staff members I had the opportunity to learn to accommodate contrasting strengths and weaknesses from members and develop the skill of complimentarily harnessing these virtues for the collective success of the team in its operations Conflict management and resolution became an integral tool I used in carrying all members along in the team affairs

Continuous Improvement: My zeal for continuous learning to improve my career in the addiction profession knows no boundary Trained by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Criminal Investigation in 2015, I have successfully investigated critical cases involving drug cartels which led to their prosecutions Similarly, in 2019, I was trained on Universal Prevention Curriculum (UPC) Core series for substance use disorders organized by Global Initiative on Substance Abuse (GISA) in collaboration with the Colombo Plan Drug Advisory Program, Sri Lanka The knowledge gained from the UPC training helped me in modifying and allowing of gradual adoption of evidence-based practices in the Drug Demand Reduction Unit of NDLEA My unending thirst to acquire more knowledge eventually became evident when I won the international award as a 2021/2022 Fulbright Hubert Humphrey Fellow currently undergoing professional and leadership development in the field of Substance Abuse Education, Prevention and Treatment, at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU), USA
