Also act as college counselor, coaching 96 12th graders with their postsecondary goals and plans. Track progress and goals for each student, using data to inform teaching and counseling methods. Connect with parents and family members to support their understanding and learning in the postsecondary planning process. Support the coordination and implementation of 12th grade events and activities.
Advised recent high school graduates on postsecondary planning and transitions. Supported students in engaging with their campuses, finding their fit, and building their skill sets while on campus. Guided students to complete financial aid forms, verification, complete enrollment and registration steps, and seek out on-campus resources to support their success. Created and implemented a virtual peer mentoring program for 12th graders as they transitioned to their postsecondary plans. At STRIVE Prep - SMART, created and implemented postsecondary planning and career exploration curriculum to 9th and 10th graders. Coached 9th and 10th graders 1:1 on building their college profile, and goal setting to support college access and postsecondary success.
As a graduate assistant and full-time coordinator, the primary focus was the implementation of MyQuest, the Student Life Leadership Program, including logistical oversight, event planning, programmatic build-out, assessment and evaluation, and workshop facilitation. Supervised and supported student workers, providing opportunities for professional development workshops, coaching, and goal-setting in their roles as Student Ambassadors. Collaborated on student events, service opportunities and all other areas of student life on campus.
