Allyson Midgley

As a housekeeper at Courtyard, I am expected to clean each room thoroughly and assure that everything is stocked for guests. In addition to guest satisfaction, I'm occasionally asked to help other housekeepers with their work.

• Clean and sanitize guest rooms following established protocols for hygiene and presentation.
• Report maintenance issues promptly to ensure guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Adapt quickly to changing priorities in fast-paced hospitality environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Collaborate with team members to complete daily cleaning assignments within scheduled timeframes.

At EDRU, I spent my first year behind the snack-bar preparing food, making ice cream, and taking orders at the register. Occasionally I would also host birthday parties! Once the second year came around, I accomplished a lot- I was trained in all other positions of the building! I quickly became the Head DJ and started coordinating event schedules for other Djs to follow. Shift-lead eventually became my title and I worked really hard to motivate my team by recognizing their hard work while also making sure cleanliness was up to standard.

I was also given lots of artistic opportunities which include a mural painting, t-shirt and pin designs!

As a Zoo Teen at Potter Park, I was taught a lot about conservation education! I spent most of my time outside of animal enclosures engaging with customers about how they can help our animals at the zoo. For about a week I assisted the teachers with summer camp! I helped the kiddos complete their art projects and inspired them to learn more about animals. Later in the summer, I started supervising for the goat yard, and was focused on keeping customers safe and respectful while petting the goats. I had so much fun bonding with them!
