Completes telephone triage of symptoms and provides timely and appropriate dispositions for medical care. Each call provides professional communication and empathy towards patients while listening effectively to attend to patient needs, if any. Bedside critical care/ICU nursing. Primary goal of unit involved reduction of morbidity and mortality in patients suffering from acute myocardial infarction, unstable angina pectoris, ventricular arrhythmias, complicated cardiac disease processes not responding to typical cardiac care and other unstable cardiac conditions.
Unit 74, Remote telemetry, 36-bed Medical/Surgical Unit. Common medical diagnoses of patients admitted to this unit include heart failure, chest pain, pneumonia, COPD, diabetes, sickle cell disease and renal failure.
